When the announcement of these lipsticks came out I immediately logged on to the Pat Mcgrath Labs page to register myself for the presale, I had to have them. I originally wanted the full set but was busy working on location and by the time I logged on with my entry code the full set had sold out, I did however manage to get my mitts on the Vicious Venoms trio. YES!
The wait for the lipsticks to arrive seemed like an eternity and when they did finally arrive I was abroad….
I am a super matte lipstick kind of girl and am a regular wearer of Mac’s Retro Matte lipstick ranges. The finish of both the lipstick and liquid lipstick look like velvet or suede and stay on forever. I had seen numerous posts from people on social media that made the lipsticks appear to have a velvet/suede type finish and was super excited about; and so (please don’t hate me) I was a little disappointed at the slightly creamy looking effect of the Matte Trance range. Being the genius that Pat is I was expecting something a little more out of this world, something that was going to have me totally transfixed but well I wasn't... On the plus side the lipsticks glide on with no drag. The colours are rich and deep. I applied Antidote around 3pm and it was still there when I wiped it off at midnight. As for the packaging it is simply divine, it is dressing table need to be seen type packaging not the buried at the bottom of your makeup bag stuff. All in all I do like the lipsticks I just wish they were a little more matte
